Just the last few boxes to tick, then boxes of books to open… let’s get books out of boxes and into the hands of readers. And what better time than the beginning of the summer holidays, when the summer stretches before you and there is time to read, time to read aloud, and time to read to yourself.

The summer holidays when reading can truly be for pleasure, not just what is required for school. I truly believe that when children read what they want to read, they find the joy of reading, which will improve their reading abilities far more than being forced to read something that doesn’t interest them.
