The Christmas fair
I’m excited to have been invited back to the Christmas fair in the beautiful Tithe Barn in Nether Poppleton, and it’s now less than a week to the fair, so what am I doing? Well in a year when I’ve spent a lot of my time working on my website, I’m now busy getting out all the trappings a craft fair:
The table cloth is the base layer of any fair, to cover the table and make it more attractive, and also to use as a banner and let people know what your product is from a distance. But also to create a storage area under the table that is hidden from the front, to store any boxes and containers as well as extra stock. A bag for personal needs such as food drink and extra layers of clothing can also be hidden under the table.
The table cloth should compliment, but not distract from the product, so it shouldn’t be too busy or clash with the product. A plain sheet is a good starting point, and I appliquéd Lost in a |Book onto my cloth, but I feel it has become a bit tired and faded over the years, so I tried a plain one last year with bunting hung from the front edge, but this was very fiddly and the bunting ended up on the table, which took away from product display space, so at this point I’m going to leave you, and go and do some redesigning, and will let you know how it goes in the days to follow… It has to stand out, but be easy to set up on the day.
