...who would be interested in the story they have to tell.

If books had to market themselves, I wonder what they would say:


·       Well for a start, they would shout with their bold cover, in a tone of illustration that attracted the sort of reader, who would be interested in the story they have to tell.

·       They would be given a clear voice in the form of a title, written loud and clear across the front, and spine.

·       A title to inform or intrigue…

·       They would use the above wiles to ensure they are picked up for closer inspection.

·       They would have a clear message on the back cover to further draw the attention, so that the casual passerby has now become a reader of the blurb.

·       The blurb cunningly giving away just enough about the story, if not to grab a sale, then at least to encourage opening the book for a peek inside.


Oh wait, it seems books already do all of these things, they just need a platform from which to shine, to get noticed in a world full of books all waiting to be read.
