A Book signing lets people know about your book

Why a do Book signing?

·      To let people know about your book

Whether it’s your first book, or you have a table full on offer, if people don’t know about your book, they can’t buy it. A book signing grabs attention, and puts you and your book in front of potential readers.

·      A Great opportunity to make some sales

People like to meet an author and have a personalised signed copy of their book, so everyone is a winner: they get a uniquely signed book, and you make a sale, and the potential to find a loyal reader for future books.

·      Instant feedback, as you see people’s reaction to your book

There’s nothing quite like watching a complete stranger look at your book, and appreciate what you’ve written.

·      Talk about your book, and the story behind the story

The most often question is: “Where do you get your inspiration?” This is a chance to talk about the things that inspired this book, whether it’s based on a true story, inspired by something specific, or just plucked from pure imagination, there’s always a story behind the story.

·      Explain your route to publishing

People are interested to hear how your book was published, most people are aware of self publishing, but not everyone knows how much work goes into self publishing, and the process of building a book; from text on a screen, to formatting in illustrations, editing and checking continuity in illustrations, to arriving at a finished file ready for printing.

·      Meet readers who already have one of more your books

It makes it all worthwhile, when someone comes up to tell you they already have one or more of your books, and that they’ve enjoyed them, especially if they want to buy more!

As a self publisher you’ve likely already come up against some sort of barrier in traditional publishing.
