Friday round up:
It’s been quite a week, from playing with the website trial, to launching the real thing, complete with shop.
So what next?
Let’s play shop…
I believe we learn through play, it’s no accident that children find it easy to get to grips with new things, because they play: press buttons, pull levers, just to see what happens. So I’ve already pushed a few buttons, and then had to figure out how to reverse what I just did… apparently the undo button is not always the solution… but playing is. So I’m still playing with the layout of the website, and how to move things around now that I have multiple pages.
But enough about the website, what about the shop? All the books are now there, with titles, pictures, and descriptions, prices and a box for names for personalised signings. All I need now are some customers… so if you’ve read this far, please pop along and have a look at the books, they are the real stars of the show, and the reason for the website.
Some of my books are based on real life… not everyone has been asked by their cat, in the middle of the night, to go and help find her kittens, who’ve just reached the age when they want to go exploring. And getting knocked over is a scenario that doesn’t instantly feel inspirational, but... minor disasters happen all the time, and life’s little mishaps make great scenes in picture books, the messier the better.
Turning minor disasters into picture books.
